Jointing performance is monitored on board the cableship at sea because this is where the process results in the finished product - i.e. a cable joint installed in a submarine cable and placed onto (or into) the seabed. All possible contributors to jointing failure will be represented here, including those which may be outside the control of the ship operator concerned.
It is therefore very important to view the information presented below in the right context because the ship operator may not always be responsible for the problems experienced at sea. For this reason, the cableship names are not shown in the public areas of this website.
