Cable Class Bar Chart Example

In the example chart below each bar represents a single joint in STC Lightweight cable. Excluding the blue portion, the total height of individual bars represents the time taken to construct that particular joint.

The lost time due to jointing failure is indicated by the red portion of the bar. The green or yellow portion represents the time the joint would have taken to construct if no problems had been experienced. The blue portion indicates the first joint constructed in a repair sequence.

The number at the bottom of each bar is the means by which all IPRS data can be traced back to source for quality auditing purposes.

IPRS is to some extent dependent on the ship operators being open about their failures. However, because joint start and finish times are almost always very clearly logged in the ships' Completion Reports, an unusually large yellow bar may indicate that undeclared failure has occurred. Such instances will be flagged for further investigation when appropriate.
